Itinerario
You will stop on top and take a well-deserved break to soak up the vistas. After about two hours you will embark for your hike back to the trailhead, from where our vehicle will bring you back to Cusco arriving at your hotel around 5 Pm.
Day Trip to the Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley
Journey through an undiscovered land of wild desert landscapes, snow-capped peaks, heards of alpaca, and arrive at the ultimate destination- The painted hills hidden deep in the Andes.
Throughout your journey you will pass through a vibrant green valley with the impressive Ausangate Mountain towering in the distance. You will experience first-hand how locals live in the mountains and even have a chance to speak with them. As you get closer to the Rainbow Mountain you will begin to see the first signs of the colored minerals that formed the painted hills. Your guide will explain what makes up the existence of the Rainbow Mountain, and finally with one last push you will hike up to a vantage point that gives you a 360-degree view of the beautiful landscape included Red Valley that makes up the sacred land.

Consideration
Weather in the Andes can be unpredictable. Please be prepared with warm clothes (down jacket, fleece hat, gloves, scarf and wind breaker), sun screen, at least 2 liters of water (per person) a hat to keep the sun off, sunglasses, and your camera!
Our Trip:
The hike to the rainbow mountain is a challenging day of hiking. It will take a full day to complete and you are constantly at a high elevation 5020 Masl meters). Make sure you are rested up to start this journey. We recommend at least 2 days in Cusco or similar elevation to acclimatize. Remember to drink plenty of water the day prior to the hike.
